Mrs. Eva D. Surface, 74, of 705 S. Green St., Crawfordsville, died Saturday morning at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, following two weeks’ hospitalization. Born July 30, 1895, near Waynetown, Mrs. Surface was the daughter of Marion and Amanda Davis Ellis. She was married March 11, 1916, to Abe Surface. Mrs. Surface was a member of Christ’s United Methodist Church here. She was educated in the Waynetown schools. Surviving are two sons, William and Wayne Surface, both of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Berry and Mrs. Pearl Attwood, both of California; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Surface was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, two sisters and one brother. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Powers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. – jlr
